DAV Public School, Gokulpur, Pakur was incepted in the year 1998 in a rented building of Bazar Samiti with the help of the local Managing Committee to cater the educational needs of the district town Pakur (Jharkhand) with the vibrant spirit of ten (10) teachers and one hundred twenty (120) students.
Today it is a CBSE affiliated school upto +2 level, with a band of forty (40) well-qualified Teachers and 1500 students are imparting quality education in a lush green environment far from the din and bustle of the town.
The Distinctive Feature of the School is to impart quality education by keeping in mind the all-around development of a child’s personality. The school has a well-stocked Library, a well-equipped composite science lab and mathematics lab, a hi-tech computer lab, art and craft room, a sports room and a music room.
It has a galaxy of qualified, experienced and dedicated teachers who adapt a ‘Child-Centered’ approach for all-round development using specialized programs and modern techniques for harnessing talent while laying stress upon the inculcation of Indian culture and moral values.
Assembly and Moral Education
To inculcate moral values in the student, the school starts each working day with the morning assembly, that includes recitation of veda-mantra, Devotional songs, patriotic songs and thought for the day. Stress is laid on the universal aspects and eternal values of traditional Indian culture. Short speeches are given by the students as well as teachers. Every morning the assembly disperses with the singing of the National Anthem.
Hawan is performed on every Saturday. Dharma-Shiksha books are prescribed to educate the students the moral values Vedic initiation camps are held twice a year. It is our prayer to God – “May our students and the institution flourish incessantly, shedding the light of knowledge all over India”.
